Take a Trip to India
India is an ideal location if you want a holiday to somewhere a bit more adventurous and interesting than your standard two-week beach holiday to Ibiza. India has a real wealth of sights and experiences to enjoy, from snowy mountains to beaches, villages to cities, temples to festivals.
India has a rich and vibrant history and evidence of it can be seen everywhere, including the part played by Britain. There are temples offering spiritual peace to those who want to find it, whilst trips into the jungle to spot some of the country’s big cats are available for the more thrill-seeking adventurers.
If you’re a fan of Indian food then naturally this is the place for you to come to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine: curries all round! And if you’re a fan of cricket then where better to come to soak up the atmosphere and enthusiasm that surrounds even the most local, small-scale match.
There are areas of India that are very, very deprived indeed, and it is easy to see the difference between the classes in this country. If you visit a slum, to see it for yourself, then be careful with your bag and possessions but be assured that anything you can give to these people by way of trade will be very welcome.
The country is vast and covers different climatic zones so that the weather in the North is usually very different from that in the South. There are three main seasons, so bear this in mind when you are considering when to travel: the hot Summer, the wet, humid Monsoon season, and the cool winter. The most comfortable time to visit is the cool winter months (November to mid-February), but also check out local festivals to see if you would prefer your visit to coincide with some of those.
